18 Niji Artist Crayons from Yasutomo

I first discovered Niji Artist Crayons from Yasutomo when i attended Creativation in 2021. This pack has 18 colors, but a clear blender. I have never had a blender for a crayon before. The only thing is the colors do not come with names. I made up my own names for them.

Here are the names I made up for them, but the swatches for each of the colors. The colors are super pigmented and go down super smooth.

The crayons lay down more like pastels and come in cardboard box with individual spaces for the crayons.
I attempted to blend the red and white together with mixed results. I also tried to blend the green and blue together. It came out a little better. I also scratched off the extra wax at the top of the green blue blend like Rae Dizzle does and it created a fun result.

The colors also draw really well on wood. I have also drawn on rocks with them for really good results. They are not water soluble and will stay on a surface for a long time. Do not accidently draw on them with something :) I bet they would be really good on windows. That can be taken off with window cleaner.

Here is the box information. The do not have an AP symbol yet, but I know they work with the organization and are getting their products tested.

Halloween Crayola Markers and Crayons

In 2001 Crayola released a line of crayons and markers that were Halloween themed. The markers were stamp markers and included; purple spider, black cats, red pumpkins and orange half moons. There were three crayons available, monster green, glowing eyes yellow and midnight green. There was not a lot of variety in colors or colors or shapes. But there were three new crayon colors.

On back of the markers bag Crayola advertised their website and said there were project ideas. It said keyword: Halloween, probably meaning put that into the search bar. Then Log on to find... Now a days that sounds like entering a password, but Crayola was just explaining how to navigate their website. It is interesting to see how internet lingo has changed in the past little while.

Crayola Twistables Colored Pencils with Color Alive: What's Inside the Box

I mostly bought the Crayola Twistables colored pencils this year because of the new color alive inserts in both of them.  I do not normally buy the new boxes of the classic colors because there are so many and I like to focus the storage space I have on the specialty sets, but this year I was excited to get Color Alive coloring book sheets. I do wish I had more of the classic colors, or at least their style and code numbers, to better tell the story of Crayola.  I plan on putting all the ones I have online in the near future. I plan on using them with my kiddos, making a copy of it and having them color it over and over.

I love the new box design for the Twistables, they were in a plastic packaging before, but they have changed to the standard colored pencils packaging.  I like the colors and swirl design on the twistables, the colored pencils are black.  What I do not like is that they do not have the color names on them anymore :( I really like color names to be on the writing instrument. It appears to be the first year this particular 18 count box is being sold (I think it was the addition of the fluorescent colors), and for the 30 count box, it appears there are at least 12 other prior boxes.

18 Count Crayola Pip-Squeaks Colored Pencils: What's Inside the Box

Aren't the Crayola Pip-Squeaks colored pencils the cutest things you have ever seen?  They are the cutest things I've ever seen.  It took me a while to buy them, but I am so glad I did.  They are thicker than normal pencils and have the coolest crayon sharpener ever.  Up to this point Crayola had only been suing the pip-squeak name for markers, but they expanded it to colored pencils.  These are the only non marker pip-squeaks I have seen.

As a side note, I was extremely glad the name of the colored pencil is on the back of the box.  Since this is my least favorite packaging I was glad I did not have to open it, even though I want to to color with them.

18 Count Doodle Scents Scented Markers: What's Inside the Box

I am super excited to see Crayola returning to scented coloring supplies! I loved all my scented Crayola items as a girl.  The Crayola Doodle Scents Scented Markers are markers based on characters with distinct smells. They can be used as a fine or thick tip. Crayola has been introducing more scented items lately including: PowerLines (look for that post soon), Pip•Scents, and Scentsations (not available yet, but in their catalog).  I hope they reintroduce scented crayons too. Some of the scents in this set are similar to the 1990's Magic Scent crayons. The markers are really pretty and feature cartoonist characters on them.  Crayola has been making markers more "fun" lately with lots of drawings and fun names.  The Crayola symbol on the markers is even in color.

There is some mystery behind these markers however. I first saw these markers in June of 2015 at the Crayola Store in Kansas City.  It was the first time I had ever seen them.  I made sure I picked up two of each, one to play with and on for the collection.  The stand was deceiving however and had two cotton candy's on it.  So now I have 4 cotton candy's.  Lucky for me pink is my little girls favorite color. I went online to see if I could see more and to my shock I found there was actually a box of doodle scents, but they were not being sold as a box in the United States.  I tried to purchase them from Amazon, but Amazon said they could not sell them to my in my geographical area.  I did find them in the 2015 Crayola Product catalog, so hopefully later this year they will come out with a box. I would like to have all of them.
