108 Tombow ABT Dual Brush Water Based Markers

Earlier this year I attended Creativation. It is a conference where all the art supply companies come together and meet with buyers for the coming year. As an influencer I was able to go and meet with the companies. I received a few Tombow markers from Tombow and wrote about what I got. Check out that post here. Needless to say I could not wait to get more. I saved up my pennies and bought the 108 Tombow ABT Dual Brush Water Based Markers. These markers can be used for calligraphy, lettering, bullet journaling, water color, coloring and much more.

This 108 set has been around since 2018. Before that there were only 96 Tombow markers. They added the colors 31 Lemon Lime, 291 Alice Blue, 379 Jade Green, 401 Aqua, 403 Bright Blue, 407 Tiki Teal, 569 Jet Blue, 803 Pink Punch, 817 Mauve, 910 Opal, N49 Warm Gray 8, N52 Cool Gray 8.

Tombow markers have a color number and color name. The color number depends on its color family. 0's are yellow, 1's are yellow greens, 2's are greens, 3's are blue greens, 4's are green blues, 5's are blues, 6's are violets, 7's are red violets, 8's are reds, 9's are browns, and N's are grays.

The marker has the color name on the side, the cap is coordinated to the color, but does not always match the color and contains the UPC for the color. The markers can be bought in sets or individually. Check out the post I did with that has all the Tombow sets along with HEX and RGB codes.

The marker has a brush and fine tip for writing. There is one barrel for the ink which they share.

Here is a picture of the container for the markers. The top of the case is not on it. The markers can be put together to form a rectangle or spread apart. Tombow recommends to store these horizontally.

It is hard to know what color order to sort these in. Here they are sorted zig zag along the whole case.

Tombow ABT Dual Brush Markers are some of the Standard markers used in crafting and lettering. The alcohol marker are new to the scene and can be used for illustrating, lettering and crafting. I really wanted to pick up a whole set of the water markers, but they are like over 300 dollars. I was super lucky to catch them on a Black Friday sale and am excited to share them. There are 108 Tombow Marker colors. They alcohol markers and the dual brush markers are the same colors, but they can not be used together because they are different ink types.

Tombow has really gone to town with putting different sets together that are cheaper in price and good stand alone palettes. These sets are really good ideas at how to combine the colors too for different projects. Here are all the Dual Brush Water based markers. I will add the alcohol based markers later.

In 2018 Tombow came out with some new colors. Before their color palette was 96. Now it is 108. The 12 colors can be bought separately. Super Cute 4th of July Card

Today I am really excited to share with you how I made the 4th of July card! I have always crafted and even own a Cricut, but like with all things sometimes it collects dust. I wanted to make a card to share today and really for making cards there is no comparison!

I really wanted to utilize some of my art supplies with card making and I loved how the two merged. My favorite is probably the stars on the flag. Read on to see how how made it.

When designing a card it is all about experimentation and sometimes throwing things out to make a better product. I can already see something I would change. But there is also a time to stop making changes. It is like coloring. Sometimes too many changes can be too much. The only things I would change with the card is no glitter on the white stars just on the blue background.

The first thing is I did is designed the card in Cricut Design Space. It is a little clumsy, but knowing a few tricks can make it easier. Click here to get my files I designed: COMING SOON.

Then I cut out all my components.

My scraper is well loved as can be seen.

Here are all the components to my design. My white card stock was a little heavier. Next time I would turn the cut dial more toward fabric for that. The other cardstock was fine. I had to cut a little with the cricut scissors.

I used Tombow Adhesives to glue all the componets.

I have used Tombow adhesives for years. They recently sent me this adhesive. It is smaller and sticks better than the old one I have.

Then I colored in the letters with Tombow alcohol markers. I did not love the red of the marker on the blue.

I colored over it with a white Posca marker. And then colored over it again with the red Tombow Marker. It matched the flag so much better. I colored in the flag and used a white Posca marker for the stars. Those were my favorite. If I was doing it over again. I would use a ruler for the stripes. They are a little off.

Then I grabbed the only glue I could think of and attempted to add glitter.

I did not get a picture, but it went horribly. I could not see the letters. I ripped off the red cardstock and put a new one over it. I actually ended up liking it because then it was just on the blue. If I did this over again I would glitter the blue first and then tape down the red cardstock so the glitter would only be on the blue paper.

Here is the end result, almost.

I decided I wanted to bring the flag out more so I outlined the flag in white. I could have cut another white cardstock, but I did not want to do more cuts. Do you like how it turned out?
