Halloween Crayola Markers and Crayons

In 2001 Crayola released a line of crayons and markers that were Halloween themed. The markers were stamp markers and included; purple spider, black cats, red pumpkins and orange half moons. There were three crayons available, monster green, glowing eyes yellow and midnight green. There was not a lot of variety in colors or colors or shapes. But there were three new crayon colors.

On back of the markers bag Crayola advertised their website and said there were project ideas. It said keyword: Halloween, probably meaning put that into the search bar. Then Log on to find... Now a days that sounds like entering a password, but Crayola was just explaining how to navigate their website. It is interesting to see how internet lingo has changed in the past little while.

Crayola Lip Smacker Lip Balm and Lip Gloss

Crayola likes to sneak in product collaborations all the time. I discovered the Lip Smacker collaboration when I was shopping at Target. I tried to find every box they put out. Lip Smacker made lip balm and lip gloss with Crayola names starting in 2019. There are a couple more 3 packs out there, but they were 20 bucks each on eBay and I was not about to pay that much. Haha. I love the colors and the names. There are even more items from the Lip Smacker/Crayola collaboration, an egg for Easter, a collectible tin for Christmas, and two other themed 3 count lip balms. I ordered a few of those and will add those to this post when I get them.

Crayola Color Wonder: Trolls World Tour, Baby Shark, Puppy Dog Pals, Fancy Nancy

It seems like it was a different a different world when I saw Crayola at the Toy Fair just a few short weeks ago. So much has changed. Our school is now closed for now and my kids are learning at home. We received the Color wonder to review and I am sooooo glad. My kids have been soaking it up. They especially love all the fun hidden designs on the page.

What's in the box and how does it work?
This year Color Wonder came out with a small Activity Pad and an envelope this year. The big envelope is reclosable for easy storage. Many of the coloring books from Crayola are licensed characters, ie characters from movies and tv shows. We were super excited to receive the Trolls coloring book because they movie is coming out soon! The envelopes come with 5 markers and 18 coloring pages. The activity pads come with 3 markers and 16 coloring pages.

Color Wonder markers paper and markers are magical. The markers only work with on color wonder paper. The paper contains a chemical that reacts with the marker ink. It would be a great science lesson too for the kids. Because right now I am looking for anything educational. The ink is clear if it is drawn on anything else.
Here is my small daughter coloring. She loves Color Wonder pages and so do I because they do not get the whole house and herself dirty. Currently she loves to color on herself...
What Did We Think?
We loved Color Wonder. There was a great variety of colors that came in the packs. We loved all the characters in each book. The hidden designs were my kids favorite part. They colored the whole page so they could see what was underneath. I love Color Wonder because it does not leave ink stains on anything else, it only colors on the paper. It is especially good for young colorists that color on everything.

I liked the activity pages too because even though the activity pads were smaller than the envelopes the pages were still a decent size. The 2016 edition came in book form, which was great for storing the markers, but the pages were smaller. I definitely like the bigger pages.

Here is what we colored.

My son colored this, his favorite color is red.
Here are all the other books available. We are loving Frozen II in this house! My little girl dances around to it all day. That would be a great activity, listening to music and coloring the corresponding book at the same time.
Here is the product information.

Crayola Color Wonder, On The Go Coloring: What's Inside the Box and Review

I was so excited to receive the Crayola Color Wonder On-The-Go coloring sets from Crayola. I was going buy at Target, but held off and the next day I found out we were getting them to review.  My kids especially love the PJ Masks and Paw Patrol sets.  A couple of years ago my kids started watching the Disney Channel show PJ Masks and there were no toys at all for the show.  My kids and I love the show because it has both boys and girls that turn into pajama clad superheroes at night with their magical bracelets.  We found some PJ Mask's pajamas for their Halloween costumes and bracelets for Christmas.  Now they get to color their favorite superheroes in a REAL coloring book! They are excited.  I can not tell you how many "coloring pages" (ones I made from images from the internet before there were books) I printed for them to color for PJ masks. There are also PJ Masks giant coloring pages, coloring books with stickers and activity books.

What's in the box and how does it work?
The Color Wonder Color-On-The Go sets come in 4 themed sets; Paw Patrol, Disney Princess, PJ Masks, and Shimmer and Shine.  The sets are very well put together and include 3 themed markers  each.  All of the markers are interchangeable.  How does the Color Wonder work?  The marker only colors on the specialized paper, because the paper contains chemicals that react with the marker ink.  Read more about the patent information here. What is really cool about this set is it has negative space areas which is used to hide fun patterns, outlines of buildings, background objects, and masks on the PJ Masks outfits. Watch the video to see what is in the boxes and my daughter coloring Owlette.

My son's coloring: Crayola Color Wonder On-The-Go: Paw Patrol

My daughter's coloring: Crayola Color Wonder On-The-Go: PJ Masks, her favorite character Owelette.  Notice she is wearing the bracelet too. She wears it every day to school.

Review
What did my kids think?  To say they loved them is an understatement.  My son carried his, he claimed the Paw Patrol around the house and colored all the pages.  He mostly scribbled on them and colored really quickly, but he loved it. My daughter loved the PJ mask one, and has almost colored all the pages in her set.  She loved finding the hidden objects in the pictures.

What did I think?  I think these are really cool and would be idea for taking to the doctor's office or a long card ride, two things we do often enough.  And would be a much better alternative than a screen.  I love that the booklets can be opened and closed and there is space for the markers inside.  This way the markers will not end up all over the car and the doctor's office. This happens a lot with other marker packages that can not be closed up when they are open. I love that they are mess free and only color on the paper.  My son was confused the other day when he was coloring with them and accidentally "colored" on his blanket.  I had to reassure him that the blanket was not dirty because the marker did not leave a mark on his blanket.

How could it be even better? I would love refills for these books.  My kids colored through the pages pretty quickly. I would also maybe like to see a few more colors per set.  They are interchangeable, but my daughter only wanted to use the ones that came in the set.

3 Count Crayola Trolls Pipsqueaks Markers: What's Inside the Box

Crayola has started making licensed character themed pip squeak markers to go along with movies and popular toys. I am so glad they made some boxes for the Troll's movie.  The boxes includes 3 markers and each marker has a different character from the movie. This makes the markers very fun and unique for kiddos. Kids really do look at the marker they are coloring with.  These markers are usually a little pricey, but there are usually deals to make them a little cheaper at Michael's where they been. This set did not come out at Toy's R Us, but did come out at Michaels. Some of the others have been at Toy's R Us.

3 Count Finding Dory Crayola Themed Pip Squeak Markers: What's Inside the Box

I first saw the Finding Dory Themed Crayola Pip Squeak markers at Michael's when I was looking for the themed crayons. Each package contains 3 markers, with makers based on Hank and Dory. They are way cute.  I wish they had more of the characters.  My son liked them so much he ripped one of them open. Who was your favorite character from the movie?

3 Count Shopkins Themed Crayola Pip Squeaks Markers: What's Inside the Box

I found out about the Shopkins Themed Crayola Pip Squeaks Markers earlier this year.  They were first sold at Toys R Us.  Unfortunately I am located in the middle of the country and my Toys R Us gets toys later than the east coast.  It took several months to find these markers and when they came in they did not have the whole set.  I found the rest at Michael's.  Unfortunately Michael's charges almost twice as much for them.  I asked if they would price match, but they said they do not price match with Toy's R Us just the other craft stores.  I explained to them how much more they were and they finally relented.  I am so excited to have the whole set and so is my daughter!  Here you go.  They are so much fun.  I love their themes.

Crayola Minions Crayons and Pip•Squeaks Markers

To say the Minions movie is promoting the movie is an understatement.  They are way promoting their movie.  I have seen Minions inspired products everywhere!  Toys, Play-Doh, Crayola Alive, anything marketed for a kid they have it.  Disney really needs to learn a thing or two about the marketing.  They did not have any Frozen items available, not a lot of Big Hero 6 items available when the movies were released.  They could have made millions with all the merchandising. And I am sure my daughter would have eaten up Crayola Alive with any sort of Disney character.

Universal Studios partnered with Target and Crayola to release a special line of crayon and Pip•Squeaks boxes. They along the same lines as the Target Pick Your Pack Boxes and Walmart Tip Collection boxes.  The marker boxes do not have names, but coordinate with the matching crayon boxes.  The markers have pictures of all the Minions on them.
