108 Tombow ABT Dual Brush Water Based Markers

Earlier this year I attended Creativation. It is a conference where all the art supply companies come together and meet with buyers for the coming year. As an influencer I was able to go and meet with the companies. I received a few Tombow markers from Tombow and wrote about what I got. Check out that post here. Needless to say I could not wait to get more. I saved up my pennies and bought the 108 Tombow ABT Dual Brush Water Based Markers. These markers can be used for calligraphy, lettering, bullet journaling, water color, coloring and much more.

This 108 set has been around since 2018. Before that there were only 96 Tombow markers. They added the colors 31 Lemon Lime, 291 Alice Blue, 379 Jade Green, 401 Aqua, 403 Bright Blue, 407 Tiki Teal, 569 Jet Blue, 803 Pink Punch, 817 Mauve, 910 Opal, N49 Warm Gray 8, N52 Cool Gray 8.

Click here for swatch charts for all the Tombow markers in rectangular form.

Tombow markers have a color number and color name. The color number depends on its color family. 0's are yellow, 1's are yellow greens, 2's are greens, 3's are blue greens, 4's are green blues, 5's are blues, 6's are violets, 7's are red violets, 8's are reds, 9's are browns, and N's are grays.

The marker has the color name on the side, the cap is coordinated to the color, but does not always match the color and contains the UPC for the color. The markers can be bought in sets or individually. Check out the post I did with that has all the Tombow sets along with HEX and RGB codes.

The marker has a brush and fine tip for writing. There is one barrel for the ink which they share.

How have I never written about the 64 Crayola Crayon Box? I have one, but I never got around to writing about it. I was so excited to pick this box up from Walmart the other day. This 64 Crayola Crayon Box features the Colors of the World markers. It contains broadline markers. Currently it is the only place to get the hair and eye colors in marker form.

Click here to find on Walmart.

The back of the box is super neat because it features the swatches of all the markers. It separates them into Colors of the world and classic Broad Line Markers. It is interesting to note though that Turquoise, Bittersweet and Royal Purple have not been in the classic line up the past few years. Crayola brought them back for this box.

Here are all the colors in the box. The eye and hair color do not match up to any current colors. They may match up to some Super Tips and Pip Squeak Skinnies colors.

Crayola Clicks Retractable Markers 10 Count

I was looking for a certain Sharpie color at Walmart when I happened across the Crayola Clicks retractable markers. I knew that I immediately needed them. My daughter is in the phase where she LOVES markers, but she is always taking the caps off and leaving them everywhere, drying the markers out. I knew that she would love these markers. I got them out and showed them how to work them, and guess what? She is now closing here markers! She calls them her markers, and let me take some pictures of them.

This blog post contains affiliate links.

Click here to find at Walmart. The paper I used is Hahnemuhle Nostalgie white paper and DCWV cardstock. Click here to find the paper I used on Blick.

They are mostly thin tip, but pressure can be applied to make them a little thicker. I was also able to do some blending with them as seen here. I also love this dot technique to add a background to the word!

Here are all the colors. I love the names, simple names that stated what the color was. The black was not super black, but the color palette was vibrant and we love them! There are no caps to lose and the marker stays fresh inside the barrel.

Complete List of Sharpie Marker Colors, Fine and Ultra Fine

Do you want to know ALL THE SHARPIE Fine and Ultra Fine COLORS? I have found 76 unique current Sharpie colors, 24 retired for a total of 100 color names.  This post is long overdue! But the reason it is long overdue is because it has taken me a while to figure out all the Sharpie colors. Why? It is because there is not one box of Sharpies that has all the colors, the color names are not on the markers and the color names are not always listed on the packaging. What I have had to do to find all these colors is buy the packs that have the names on the sides and find out from there what the colors are.

There are some retired colors from past boxes, but I cannot get ahold of them and people cannot buy them. If they are rereleased, I will add them to the list.

This blog post contains affiliate links.

The current Sharpie marker colors are: valley girl violet, ultra violet, boysenberry, magenta, power pink, electric pink, berry, rocket fuel red, jellie pink, neon pink, ruby, pink, jupiter red, solar flare red, red, racey red, pink lemonade, peach, orion orange, optic orange, leg warmer orange, neon orange, tangerine, banana clip yellow, yellow, neon yellow, almond, supersonic yellow, martian green, venus green, lime, neon green, galaxy green, green, mint, argyle green, aqua, jetset jade, emerald, nano blue, turquoise, sapphire, blue ice, neon blue, brilliant blue, surf, techno blue, blue, navy, sky, intergalactic indigo, purple, lilac, metallic gold, metallic bronze, brown, black, dark matter gray, slate gray, celestial gray, metallic silver, purple fluorite, tanzanite, peacock blue, teal tiger's eye, jasper green, amber, cabochon coral, rose quartz, citrine, aquamarine, geode, violet chalcedony, light blue topaz, and lavender mica.

Here is the swatch chart I created for all the Sharpie colors. It can be used to track which Sharpies are in a collection and easily find out which ones are needed. All the Sharpie colors have distinct caps that usually match up with one another. I did find an oddity in the Cosmic Color set. The color caps for magenta and sky do not match up. The ink color is the same.

To understand all the colors Sharpie offers it is necessary to understand how the release history. Sharpie has long been around for a very long time. It was introduced in 1964 and was touted as a marker that could write on anything. In 1979 new colors were introduced, blue, brown and green. They started to expand their color line up from there. Right now Sharpie is focusing on standard packs of individual colors, 8, 12 and 24 and specialty themed sets that range from 5 markers to 115. They also expanded their tip selections. I have listed where each color comes currently in the information below. In 2003 they started introducing limited editions with unique colors.

The big question is: How does one get all the colors? I wish there was a box where all the colors could be found, but for now a bunch of different packs must be purchased and there will be many duplicates! All the colors can be purchased with by getting the 45 collection, Mystic Gems and the 115 collection, but that is a lot of money. I have the 45 collection and a bunch of others. I am hoping to get my hands on all of them! Some of the colors can be bought open stock too at stores such as Michael's and JoAnn Fabrics. Here is a chart that list what colors come in each box.

There is also no fanfare for releasing new colors or retiring colors. Who knows what colors will disappear this year?

Here are all the packs with what colors are in them. There are specialty sets that come out at the holidays, but I have not listed them because they are usually only available for a short time.

Standard 8

  • Black, Yellow, Purple, Red, Green, Brown, Orange, Blue, Aqua, Berry, Lime, and Turquoise

Specialty Packs and Colors

In 2003 Sharpie started releasing limited edition packs starting with Earth Tones. After that they released Nature Tones, Summer splash, Caribbean, Couleurs Café, Pastels, 80’s Glam in 2012, Electro Pop and Color Burst. This year they are releasing Mystic Gems in 14 new colors! One of the most confusing things about these sets is they sell them in various sizes and for various tips and the colors can differ. I have tried to list the biggest box size available with the unique colors listed. Sometimes the colors disappear and sometimes they stay around and are put in other boxes or packs. It is a real mystery which ones will Stay or go.

Mystic Gems 24

The Mystic Gems come in 12,  20 and 24 containing other colors mixed in. There are 14 unique colors. The 20 packs have only 5 Mystic Gems. The 12 has all Mystic Gems and the 24 all 14 with 10 other colors included.

  • Red, Cabochon Coral, Orion Orange, Amber, Green, Jasper Green, Teal Tiger's Eye, Peacock Blue, Blue, Tanzanite, Purple Fluorite, Purple, Black, Pink, Rose Quartz, Peach, Citrine, Mint, Geode Green, Aquamarine, Light Blue Topaz, Violet Chalcedony, Lavender Mica, and Celestial Gray

Electro Pop

These are the unique Electro Pop colors.

  • ultra violet, nano blue, optic orange, techno blue, electric pink

Here is what is in the 25 Fine Electro Pop Pack.

  • yellow, lime, slate gray, techno blue, purple, blue, blue ice, electric pink, sky, optic orange, nano blue, brown, boysenberry, pink lemonade, green, peach, black, ultra violet, turquoise, magenta, red, orange, navy, mint, berry

Here is what is in the 34 Ultra Fine Electro Pop pack

  • lilac, jetset jade, electric pink, almond, slate gray, tangerine, red, green, lime, ultra violet, navy, mint, power pink, brown, peach, berry, turquoise, yellow, black, aqua, purple, techno blue, yellow, pink, blue, sky, brilliant blue, optic orange, boysenberry, nano blue, orange, blue ice, racey red, magenta, super sonic yellow

Color Burst

Here are the colors in the Fine and Ultra Fine Color Burst Packs.

  • Power Pink, Racey Red, Supersonic Yellow, Jetset Jade, Brilliant Blue, Aqua, Berry, Black, Blue, Blue Ice, Brown, Green, Lime, Magenta, Mint, Navy, Orange, Peach, Pink Lemonade, Purple, Red, Slate Gray, Turquoise Blue, and Yellow

Here are the colors in the Fine Cosmic colors pack.

Here are the colors in the Ultra Fine Cosmic Colors pack. I think it is slightly different including jellie pink instead of magenta and sky blue instead of sky because the caps are different colors.

  • boysenberry, jellie pink, rocket fuel red, jupiter red, solar flare red, red, peach, orange, orion orange, yellow, green, galaxy green, venus green, martian green, aqua, blue, navy, sky blue, brown, lilac, intergalactic indigo, black, dark matter gray, celestial gray

Crayola Create and Play Markers

In 2019 Crayola came out with the Crayola Create and Play app. These markers are a promotional box advertising that app. The box contents are the same as a normal box of markers, it is just the outside that is different. The title is a bit misleading because the app is not free, but there is a free trial. After that the app is a subscription and costs per month or year. I remember back in the day when apps only had to be paid for once, that was nice. Now the business model for apps is paid. We have the app and the kids like it. I have considered unsubscribing because they do not use it that much, but actually do art projects lots more. We limit screen time in our house. Here is my review of that app.

Kid's First Markers and Crayons: What's Inside the Box

In 1997 Crayola came out withe a line of crayons and markers called Kid's First. This line came in regular and bright colors crayons. It was specifically marketed for kids 1 to 3 with a large crayon size. Crayola also emphasized that these crayons were washable. They gave the crayons fun names to appeal to the young children. The bright colors were fluorescent and named: Magic Magenta, Pinkasaurus, Rocket Red, Goldfish Orange, Sunshine Yellow, Gator Green, Balloon Blue, Purplepotomus. The regular colors were named;  Birdie Blue, Bunny Brown, Candy Apple Red, Grape Juice Purple, Kitty Cat Black, Leap Frog Green, Pumpkin Orange, School Bus Yellow. I do not know if the markers were creatively named, but they did feature pictures like the crayons did.

Crayola Thank A Teacher

Earlier this year in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day on May 8, 2018 Crayola came out with the "Thank A Teacher" promotion. On this day they encouraged everyone to get onto social media and thank a teacher in their life and built up a webpage to thank a teacher. They encouraged people to use the hasthtag #crayolathanks on Twitter and Instagram also encouraged kids to upload notes to teachers on the website. They have some generic templates or kids can create their own cards and upload it to thank a teacher. Here is the cards my daughter made for this years teacher and next years teacher.

The products in this post were provided by Crayola in exchange for an honest review.

Ideas to Thank a Teacher
In addition to uploading a card on their website Crayola also suggest the following.
  1. Thank a teacher on social media with the hashtag #Crayolathanks
  2. Create a thank you video on a Crayola crayon box.
  3. Say it to your teacher.
  4. Download coloring pages from Crayola, 1, 2, 3.
  5. Create it. They have ideas of what to do, a calendar, spring pencil toppers, DIY chalkboard paint, and DIY stained glass.
Contest
Starting July 1, 2018 and running through August 25, 2018 Crayola will be having a contest for those that thank a teacher.

Ten grand prize packs will be awarded, inclusive of:
  • $10,000 classroom makeover for the teacher
  • One year supply of Crayola products for the school
  • $1,000 scholarship for the student
  • $1,000 gift card for both the teacher and school
  • Free CreatEd seminar for the school
In addition to the grand prizes, one lucky entrant will have his or her thank you note featured on a special pack of Crayola crayons this holiday. In addition, a weekly sweepstakes will run concurrently with the contest, offering entrants a chance to win $500 gift cards for themselves and their teachers.  The contest and sweepstakes will run through August 25, 2018.
