Farewell Dandelion! 4 Count Crayola Box

Crayola retired the color Dandelion on March 30, 2017 and replaced it with Bluetiful later in September 2017. This 4 count box was a special commemorative box they produced to say goodbye to Dandelion. I think they gave them out at Target. I missed the box, but luckily someone sent me one.

America's Top 50 Crayons: What's Inside the Box

In 2001 Crayola put together a plastic container of crayons that were America's Favorite Top 50 crayons. The Top 50 crayons were obtained by the Crayola Color Census. Crayola conducted their own Census the same time the United States was conducting the Census 2000. Crayola put special gold wrappers on the crayons and the ranking from the census. Blue was the most popular color! I would love for crayola to do this contest again and see how it has changed.

Crayola also ranked the colors in Canada in 2000. They only included 8 crayons in their final box. The most popular colors in order were: blue, red, violet, green, magenta, carnation pink, orange, and yellow. (source http://www.crayoncollecting.com/ccolor31.htm)

30 Special Edition Sharpie Permanent Markers

I do not know how this is my very fist Sharpie post EVER because I LOVE sharpies. But it is. This is the 30 Count Sharpie pack. There are 15 Fine Point Permanent Markers and 15 Ultra Fine Point Permanent Markers. The colors are included on the back of the box. If you know me you know I love when they include colors. I can not wait to use these markers to color. Sharpie ink is super bright and absorbent. These markers will bleed. It is best to color on top of something perishable or not important because it will be bleed through.

Crayola Special Edition 100 Count Crayons: What's Inside the Box

The year before Crayola turned 100 years, when Crayola made it's very first box of crayons, Crayola released the Special Edition 100 Crayons box.  Crayola would retired four of the five following crayons; magic mint, blizzard blue, burnt sienna, mulberry and teal blue in the Save the Shade contest.  Voters voted for the colors online on Crayola's website.  To replace the four colors that were retiring Crayola was holding a simultaneous contest Name the New Colors, where people could name the new crayon colors.  The color that was saved was burnt sienna and the new color names were jazzberry jam, mango tango, inch worm and wild blue yonder.

This box is really neat because it is a gold box, a color not used very often on boxes.  It also features a birthday cake.  A little bit of trivia is this box is actually a 96 count box stuffed with 4 crayons stuffed to make it 100.
