4 Count Crayola Crayons

In the 1990-2000's Crayola let companies make custom 4 count and 6 count promotional boxes for their brands. There are many more than shown here, but here are some fun themed Crayola 4 count crayon boxes from Oscar Meyer, Mother's Banana Boat, Energizer, Chili's crayons, Joe Corbi's and Smuckers. Some of them are regular crayons some are special Crayola crayons, metallic and Techno Brite. The Chili's crayons are custom named.

Thank you teachers 64 Count and 8 Count Boxes

In 2018 Crayola had a campaign to "Thank a Teacher" where they had a contest for a $10,000 classroom makeover. There was a special line of boxes that came out with this contest. Later that year Crayola also came out with these two boxes a special 8 count box celebrating teachers and a 64 count THANK YOU TEACHERS box! There was also a special huge 8 count box that Crayola included these crayon boxes in when they distributed them to teachers in the local Pennsylvania area. I do not have a picture of that.

World Diabetes Day Crayola Crayons

This is the World Diabetes day box of crayons. These crayons were introduced in 2007 to tie in with the world diabetes day November 14, 2007. This year was the first year the United Nations observed Diabetes Day and adopted a resolution to observe it every year thereafter. The poster for the campaign used the image on the box below for the posters and such. This box contains information on the back describing the symptoms of diabetes in children.

World Diabetes day was established by International Diabetes Federation and WHO in 1991 with the aim of coordinating diabetes advocacy worldwide. (From the World Diabetes Day Website). This box also promotes the Life For A Child website and says for "every box of crayons distributed, at least one dollar is given to support children with diabetes in developing countries".

The back of the box says the warning signs for diabetes are:
  • Frequent urination
  • Excessive thirst
  • Increased hunger
  • Weight loss
  • Tiredness
  • Lack of interest and concentration
  • Blurred vision
  • Vomiting and stomach pain (often mistaken as the flu)
The box also says in large lettering on the back that "No child should die of diabetes". What a great box for Crayola to make for this day.

International 24 Count Crayola Crayons: What's Inside the Box

Crayola has been making International crayon boxes for a long time.  I think the earliest international boxes in Crayola's history were made for Canada.  They have expanded to all over the globe.  These are two international boxes that I have, I hope to get some more someday, but for now these will have to do.  These boxes come from Japan and Canada.

The Canadian box is in celebration of 25 years of Staples in Canada.  For this promotion Staples ran a contest flying people to the Staples Center in Los Angeles and awarding them with money.  I love how Crayola works with companies to promote special events.  I know there is a Target box out there somewhere that I would love to get my hands on.  The 24 is in silver lettering. There is nothing on the back that is any different for the celebration.

It is a good thing the bottom of the Japanese box is in English, because other than that I can not understand anything on the box.  Most of the box is written in Japanese. I will have to find someone to translate it for me.  I would love to know what it says.

It is interesting to note in the code numbers instead of a 52-****-0 it is a 52-****- J for Japan or C for Canada.  This is how Crayola designates international boxes within the company.  The contents of the boxes are exactly the same as far as colors are concerned.

8 Count Crayola Shopkins Themed Crayons: What's Inside the Box

I was so excited to find the Crayola Shopkins themed boxes at Toy R Us.  I saw people had found them there and went to Toys R Us that night.  At first I could not find the cookie box, and had two kids running wild, but I looked a little hard around the store and there they were.  I think there are matching coloring books supposedly, but I could not spot them.

I first heard about Shopkins a couple months ago.  They are super BIG and popular with the elementary crowd. I was at a birthday party and the birthday girl got them for her birthday. In each package there's a surprise, kind of like cabbage patch dolls back in the day. There are people that dedicate YouTube channels just to show the surprise as they open them.

Crayola 64 Count Star Wars Crayons: What's Inside the Box

I present the Crayola Star Wars Crayons 64 count boxes.  These boxes came out on September 4, 2015, #SharetheForce day.  That hashtag is actually the hash tag from Target and these boxes are not available there.  All the stores had a huge day and released all their Star Wars merchandise on the same day.  I do not know why it was so early, the movie does not come out until December.  They could have waited for a couple of months, but I suspect it is because they wanted to get the Star Wars toys out there for Christmas season.  And of course it was the 4th because May the 4th has become May the Force be with you do, with every one and their dog posting pictures about Star Wars that day.

Crayola Disney Junior 8 count themed boxes: What's Inside the Box

The Crayola Disney Junior 8 count themed boxes are super cute! They were made in 2014 but were not featured in stores until January 2015. I unfortunately missed the original release of the boxes, and saw them on eBay later.  Luckily a collector friend sent me these.  I hope to find some more, because my daughter kids absolutely love this series of boxes, much more than the original set, of which I have plenty of extras.
