In April 2013 Crayola announced a contest on Facebook, the Colorful Nickname Contest which was part of the Crayola's Birthday Adventure. It was the 110th anniversary of the first pack of Crayola crayons. The contest coincided with the Grand Opening of the Crayola Experience in Easton, Pennsylvania. During the month Facebook users submitted new names for the original 8 pack of Crayola Crayons. In May 2013 the new names were announced. It is interesting to note that last names were given just the last initial.
