International 24 Count Crayola Crayons: What's Inside the Box

Crayola has been making International crayon boxes for a long time.  I think the earliest international boxes in Crayola's history were made for Canada.  They have expanded to all over the globe.  These are two international boxes that I have, I hope to get some more someday, but for now these will have to do.  These boxes come from Japan and Canada.

The Canadian box is in celebration of 25 years of Staples in Canada.  For this promotion Staples ran a contest flying people to the Staples Center in Los Angeles and awarding them with money.  I love how Crayola works with companies to promote special events.  I know there is a Target box out there somewhere that I would love to get my hands on.  The 24 is in silver lettering. There is nothing on the back that is any different for the celebration.

It is a good thing the bottom of the Japanese box is in English, because other than that I can not understand anything on the box.  Most of the box is written in Japanese. I will have to find someone to translate it for me.  I would love to know what it says.

It is interesting to note in the code numbers instead of a 52-****-0 it is a 52-****- J for Japan or C for Canada.  This is how Crayola designates international boxes within the company.  The contents of the boxes are exactly the same as far as colors are concerned.

  1. On the Japanese box, it says 世界で愛されてる (Sekai de aisareteru) meaning "most-loved worldwide" and then ソーラーパワーで作られました!(Sōrā pawā de tsukuraremashita!) that means "made through solar power!".

Wow I never thought that the labeling on the crayons are the same in the Japanese version. Here in the Philippines we have our own label on the manufactured crayons.
