Best 30 Art and Craft Supplies for 2025

Do you want to see the best art and craft supplies for 2025? Look no further, here are the top 30 art and craft supplies I found this year so far. Earlier this year I was able to attend Creativation in Seattle and Toy Fair in New York City. While there I scoured the aisles for the best art and craft supplies for 2025. Here is the list starting with the best art and craft supplies for 2025. Most of these are new or new to me.

1. First up is Zebra Dot Mildliner. It will come in 10 different colors and be Available Summer 2025. The reason that this got the number one spot on the list is that it is different than any marker that I have ever seen. I have seen stamp markers which they will also be releasing, but the dot side is very large and will be excellent at creating lot of different style of artwork.

Here is the dot marker side of the marker.

Here is some dot art made by the lovely Christina MacArthur.

2. Next up is a hidden gem. I am a huge color nerd and anytime a company releases new colors I am all for it. Posca will be releasing 2 new colors this year and it is Available Now. The colors in the pack include; Light Green, Apple Green, Green, English Green, Khaki Green, Black, Forest Green, and Grape Green. Forest Green and Grape Green are the two new colors.

3. Coming in at number 3 are the NEW Posca Brush markers. I do now know if this is a response to the Sharpie brush markers that came out last year or that fact that every company out there is starting to make acrylic markers, but I am super excited for these. They are activated the same way as a normal Posca marker, shaking and pressing down repeatedly. I just ordered some and can not wait to use them.  They will come in 8 and 16 colors and are Available Now.

The Posca Brush markers come in White, Black, Red, Pink, Yellow, Green, Blue, Light Blue, Beige, Grey, Coral Pink, Light Pink, Violet, Brown, Orange, and Light Green.

4. Making it's way to number 4 are new Mildliner colors from Zebra, 6 in total, Available Summer 2025. They come in smoke red, mimosa yellow, mint, moss green, iris and dusty pink. I can not wait to get my hands on all these colors. I use the Mildliners on a daily basis for planning and whatever else in my life needs a little color.

Here are 5 of the 6 new Mildliner colors.

5. Coming in a number 5 is the Sizziz stamper-registration press tool. I do not think this is new, but it was new to me. This tool is very versatile and my favorite thing is if the stamp does not get enough ink, because that happens all the time the stamper will go down again in the exact same spot. These are two creations in various stages created with the tool. It is Available Now.

6. Next on my list is the OLO Premium Marker Blending Card, Available Now. When I first saw OLO markers the first question I asked was what paper do I use with these markers? Or with any alcohol markers? Alcohol markers need a smooth thick paper in order to reach their full potential. That way the marker will not dry out too fast or bleed through the paper. This paper does bleed through but it is super smooth and makes for some really good blending.

7. Coming in a 7 are the Holbein Luminance Watercolors, Available now. They come in 12 shades in 5mL and 15 mL sizes. The colors are super vivid.

And the best part about these colors are they glow in the dark!

8. At number 8 are the Lego Botanical and Art Pieces, Available Now. Lego has a come a long way in the past few years branching out from toys into the world of art. I purchased the milky way set and some botanical flowers to build this year.

9. Number 9 surprised. I stopped by a booth and glanced at the Emott ever fine fineliners, took a few videos and a sample and moved on. When I got home and did my art haul video I found I loved the Emott ever fine fine liners and promptly purchased them all. They are easy to handle and the color comes out very consistently. They are not metal tips, but have a firm tip that writes beautifully. They are Available now.

10. At number 10 are the Nanoblock bonsai sets, Available now. These exact sets are not available yet, but will soon. I love all the different colors of Nanoblocks. There is a definite trend to appeal to women with these sets and I am loving it. I would probably display these in my home.

11. Slice took my by surprise and I wish I had had more time to visit their booth. They make cutting edge cutters my favorite being one that will open packages and letters, but the blade will not hurt the skin. They are Available now.

12. At number 12 are the Crayola Limited Edition Retired colors. This year they decided to bring back 8 retired crayon colors. The really cool thing and why it is so high in the list is this is the first time that Crayola has matched crayon, colored pencil and marker colors. I would love it if they made an effort to do this with all their colors, but I will not hold my breath. They are Available now.

13. Coming in at number 13 which is a really cool number if you are a Swiftie as I am is the Make It Real Bracelet Maker, Available now. When I saw this I about died because I have spent so much time making friendship bracelets before concerts, a lot of time. This device would save so much time making the bracelets. The bead quality is about on par with the clay beads found other places. I think I could pump out a lot of bracelets in a little amount of time with this device. Now to get a device that pumps out sayings/lyrics/song acronyms really quickly.

14. At number 14 is the Suminagashi Kit from Yasutomo, Available Now. This kit is a Japanese marbling kit complet with sumi ink, hosho paper and brushes. To use this tray is filled with water and then sumi ink is place inside. Water will repel the sumi ink and can be dropped in making cool designs. The ink can be stirred to make different patterns. A piece of paper is inserted into the water when the desired pattern is achieved. The pattern is then transferred to the paper. The best thing about it is designs are unique every time. I really want to try this.

15. Pentel Eraser, Available now

16. When I saw CreArt color by number I immediately was drawing to the colorful palettes, and the fact it look like it would be easy to use. I have seen some color by number that are extremely complicated. These could probably been done pretty easily. I would probably replace the paints with higher quality paints. CreArt is Available now.

17. Robotime grabbed my attention when I was walking by at Toy Fair. There are so many designs I could not show pictures of all, but here were tow of my favorites. These would make cute decorations in a house. They are Available now.

18. Next up is La Dot Temp Tattoo Stamp, Available now. These are henna like tattoo stamps that can be colored in. I would love to have a number 13 and use this on my hand for Taylor Swift concerts. My 13 was really bad for the Eras tour.

Here is me coloring in a flower.

19. Next up is M Creative J Stick & Stich Embroidery Pattern. I really love embroidery even though I do not do it a ton right now. This patch could be used on clothing, the back is peeled off, placed on the fabric, embroidered whatever colors desired and then the best part it is it will wash away with warm water.

20. The Koi Coloring Brush Pens available in 48 colors are not new, but they are new to me. The have a smaller barrel then some other watercolor markers, but the pigment that comes out is super pretty and vibrant. These are Available now. I can not wait to start using these.

Here is the complete set of 48 colors.

21. A paper that caught my eye was the Canson Mi-Teintes Velvet Paper, Available now. Paper makes a big difference when using art supplies. The Canson paper is a great paper. It has excellent layering capacity, amazing blending properties, is erasable without ruining the paper. It has excellent grip, no fixative is need, and has a fine consistent texture. It is also great for wet media.

Here is the same drawing one drawn on the velvet paper on the left and the other a regular paper. The drawing on the velvet looks a lot better for sure.

22. I am a little mad about this one, the 60 pigment brush pens from Staedtler. I had purchased the 36 Pigment brush pens to review and then wne to Creativation and found there was a box of 60 pens. Now I have to get the remaining 24. I do not know if I will have to purchase the 60 box or if the 24 will be available separately. These pens make beautiful creations and are lightfast. Alchohol markers are not lightfast and will fade when exposed to sunlight. The 60 Pigment brush pens are Available now.

Here is an art piece made with the Pigment brush pens.

And some more art pieces made with the pens. I can only hope to draw this good someday.

23. Next up is the 3Doodler Chef pen. This is a revolutionary tool to those that like to make art with candy. There are sugar sticks that are inserted into the device. The device melts them, Stencils can be used or objects to shape the candy. The candy then hardens and can be used to decorate. 3 Doodler has a series of 3D pens that have some amazing applications and I am so glad they are expanding the line to edible art. The 3Doodler Chef is available now.

My favorite part is the candy can be used for gingerbread houses. For those who have ever tried to make a gingerbread how it can be especially excruciating trying to get the gingerbread house to stand up with frosting. Kids get frustrated, parents try to help. This would be perfect for gingerbread houses. There is a kid version coming out that will be a lower temp for kids. I will definitely get this.

24. Next up is Copic Acrea which is available in 24 colors, Available now. Copic started as an alcohol ink based company and are now expanding to the acrylic marker, along with a lot of other companies. They can be purchased in packs on 6 only. Copic Acrea markers are a water-based opaque acrylic marker that can be used on light and dark paper. The are a smaller nib. They would be higher on the list, but the price point is a little high for the marker.

Here is a drawing that perfectly illustrates all the beautiful colors in the Copic Acrea line.

25. Next up is this paint tray from Silver brush. It will be available Summer 2025. I love there is a place for water and a place to clean off the brush. I usually use a paper towel and plate. This will be a perfect alternative.

26. Next up is Neoart 6901 Carandache, Available now. These are a wax oil pastel, permanent in nature. It is the first ever lightfast pastel and the first wax and oil pastel that conforms to ASTM D-6901 which is very important to me because it means it is safe for kids to be around. It is  a little lower on the list because of the higher price point and limited color quantity.

Here is amazing artwork make by Sarah Bixler with the Neoart 6901.

27. Pan Pastels are a revolutionary mix between pastel and paint. They are a dry pastel that can be applied like a paint. they can be used for drawing, painting and mixed media. I would probably use them for a background, but they can be used for the main piece too. They have very little binder resulting in a rich pure pigment. They are ultra-soft and easy to blend. I have not used them, but would love to get my hands on some. They were 80 colors before and now come in 53 new colors Available now. They are a little pricey for sure, but super pretty.

Here are some of the new colors.

And because we were in Seattle here is a fix explaining all the new pastels.

28. Next up are the Faber-Castell-Shake and Paint markers. These are relatively low on the list and are only on the list because these are the first attempt at acrylic markers from Faber Castell. Like I said every company is getting into the acrylic marker business. They are made for their black edition line and that line is a lower quality line from Faber Castell. They are better quality and come in more colors than Crayola acrylic markers. They are dual ended, 1mm and 3mm bullet nibs and show the amount of ink left in the marker through an indicator on the side. I do not love them because the nib is not the best quality and there is not an option to get them individually or all in one set. They are Available now.

29. Next up are Sarah Hurley Coloring Books. Sarah has some amazing pages to color with fun drawings and designs and nice paper. They would be higher on the list, but I do not see them available in the US just yet and do not know if they will be. I thought I saw them on Amazon, but it is not there anymore. They are only available on her website at the moment and with tariffs changing everyday I am not sure how much they would end up being.

Look at how pretty this coloring book is.

30. Last up is the Spellbinder DIY Color Deck, Available now. This comes in two forms with just as a color deck with 53 pictures that can be used for inspiration for paper crafting. The real magic comes with the expanded deck that features a 1" punch that cuts included 48 ColorWheel Cardstock pieces. I am a little disappointed the 48 ColorWheel Cardstock assortment is pretty pricey for 20 sheets and not all 48 sheets can be purchased together.
