Sharpie Creative Earth Tone Acrylic Markers

Sharpie has definitely gone to town with releasing paint/acrylic markers which they term the Sharpie Creative marker. In 2025 along Sharpie came up with two more palette sets, warm and Earth Tone for the bullet tip and 36 fine tip colors. I am not sure why they have not made more brush colors. Maybe there was something wrong with the marker and they had to figure it out? This is the Earth Tone set of Sharpie Creative markers in the bullet tip from 2025.

The colors are not on the marker unfortunately. I am going to label them with B, Basic, E, Earth Tone and W, Warm. Sharpie provided me names for these markers.

Color Information

The colors in the Earth Tone Sharpie Creative marker set are: Rose Quartz, Crimson, Terracotta, Golden Clay, Moss Green, Eucalyptus, Topaz, Cerulean, Indigo, Sandstone, Amethyst, and Lilac.

Here are the Creative Markers on black paper. The colors excel on the white paper, but some of the colors are lost on the black paper.

This one was made for the Wicked movie For Good made entirely with the Earth Tone set.

Sharpie Creative Markers Bullet and Brush Tips

Sharpie has offcially made paint markers! I saw these a year and a half ago at Creativation. They were a secret at the time, but I was so excited that Sharpie was going in the paint brush marker market. They offcially came out this year 2024.

The Sharpie Creative Markers come in a brush and bullet tip. The brush tips are my favorite. The bullet tips are really large and soft and hard to work with.

The colors included in both the bullet and brush tip are: red, orange, yellow, light green, aqua green, turquoise, blue, purple, pink, gray and black. I saw the other day online there are going to be be 12 more colors.

The thing that drives me absolutely bonkers is they do not put the color names on the markers. They made this mistake with the alcohol markers. It makes markers super annoying to use. I hope they soon rectify this and put marker names on the marker especially as they expand the line.

This colors are super opaque and work well on top of one another and on black paper. The colors are a bit muted and are really good for a pastel like feel for art. The one worry I have with these markers is they may dry out, but so far they have worked when I go to use them.

I made this quote "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart". I used the brush markers to draw lines and the bullet tips for the lettering. I used the white paint marker to create shadows.

These markers come in blister packs and can not be bought individually. I store markers that come in blister packs in Crafters Companion storage to make them easy to use.

Sharpie Glam Pop Markers

Sharpie came out with the Glam Pop markers in 2023. There is a pack of Glam Pop Sharpie permanent markers that will contain 36 markers and come out in 2024. The 24 pack contains two "new" colors. These colors were mystery colors before. Sharpie releases packs at the holidays time and has had mystery colors in these packs the past three years. The new colors are bright purple and dusty rose. Dusty rose does not seem that glam pop to me, but oh well. The markers come in Ultra Fine and Fine markers.

Decoding the World of Sharpie Paint Markers: Oil and Water Based Paint Markers

Have you heard of the Sharpie Paint Markers? I had and really wanted to try them out, but as usual I had to figure out what colors there were. In this blog post I will give all the colors for the paint markers and review the paint markers.

This is all of the Sharpie paint markers. There are a lot of colors and sizes. There are two types of Sharpie Markers, Oil and Water Based. The oil based dry fast, are scratch resistant and waterproof. They do come off with rubbing alcohol. These markers are great for lots of different surfaces; paper, clothing, glass, leather etc...Water based markers are not water resistant, not scratch proof, but they are acid free, ie they will not destroy paper over time. These markers are great for paper.

Marker Sizes

The markers come in six sizes; Extra Fine Point, two types felt and metal based, Fine Point, Medium, Bold and Extra Bold.

Colors

The colors are very random for the Sharpie Paint markers. The Oil based markers definitely come in more colors than the water based markers. The colors are written on the marker half the time. See below for pictures of the markers. All the markers have UPC's on them.

It is really strange that the fine does not include purple, maybe it does somewhere, but I could not find it. Also very strange that the bold only comes in white and the white is not very good.

This palette is very disappointing to me. If I had to do it again I would only get the Extra Fine colors. There is a variety of colors and they are pretty.

Black Paper Test

Here are the swatches on black paper for all the markers. The markers on the right side are Posca markers. I was disappointed with how the Sharpie paint markers performed on black paper especially the white. That is where the white needs to shine, but half the time it did not show up. I had to go over the markers several times to get any color to stay. The Medium has several layers and the fine has one layer. The glitter and metallic performed the best on black paper.

And I also ended up with duplicates because I had multiple carts open and did not take them out. To say it was frustrating to get all these colors is the truth. And it really should not be because there the color palettes are not even that large.

Would I get all of the markers again if I had the chance? Probably not. I wanted to document them though. It is going to be a real pain to store these too because they did not come in reusable packaging. I would get the medium oil based and extra fine point water based and oil based markers only. Sharpie Pocket and Tank Highlighters: Fluorescent and Pastel

In 2022 Sharpie came out with some new highlighter colors, the pastel colors and new packaging for the existing fluorescent markers. There are now 18 total highlighter colors in all for the Sharpie highlighter line up. I personally love yellow, it is my go to highlighter color, but am excited for all the new colors. They even named all of them.

2022 Sharpie Brush Twin Markers 12 count

I first saw the Sharpie Brush twin at Creativation Art Materials in 2022. At that time there was a possibility of 24 brush markers from Sharpie. I was more excited about this than I was about the fact they had the ultra fine tip on the bottom which is also pretty cool too. How it works with stores is companies will pitch ideas and stores will pick them up. I do not think any stores picked them up because they are not for sale. They did appear on Amazon for a time, but there is no inventory. Here is crossing my fingers the 24 pack shows up sometime.

That aside the Brush Twin Sharpie markers are really cool They can product 3 different size lines and are great for coloring and lettering work. They include a brush tip and an ultra fine point tip. No more searching for markers. What is also really great is the ultra fine point is on the marker and the color matches the brush tip. Sharpie does not label their markers, and this could be a tricky task otherwise. Sharpie has some other Brush Tips I will post about, but these markers are different in design. They have a thicker barrel and the tip is slightly different. I colored with them and they were much faster to use than the regular Sharpie fine point. I know my kids would like these more too.
