Scribble Stuff Felt Tip Pens and Gel Pens

I am very excited to share with you today the Scribble Stuff line. I was given the felt tip pens and gel pens in exchange for an honest review.
The Scribble Stuff line includes; felt tip pens that come in a pack of 24 and the gel pens that come in a pack of 30 scented or 8 fluorescent.

Gel Pens
Felt Tip Pens

Since these were Scribble Stuff line I decided to scribble some words out to show how they work and the colors. Here’s what I made.

I started this one as words of 2019 hence the reason the word love is in there, but then I decided to focus on the movies that were coming out this year. I haven’t seen half of them but I am excited to get them on Netflix eventually or Disney plus now.

The other scribble page I made was of Taylor Swift because she just came out with a new album, "Lover" last week and she is my favorite artist. I wrote down all of my favorite songs from her there is plenty more but these are my favorites.

What did I think of the felt tip pens and gel pens?

There were a lot of color choices for both products which I liked and the colors were pretty vivid. I loved the packaging on the larger sets because I could store them in there. The smaller package I will have to take apart and store them separately from the packaging. I do wish there was color names on the pens. And I know many of you do too. I get asked all the time to make charts for larger color sets that don’t have names. Did the pens smell? There was a faint smell but if you’re buying these for the scented reason it didn’t smell that much.

If I were going to buy them I would definitely buy the felt tip pens. I felt they wrote a little bit better. Most of the pens were very moist when I use them and had a good mark on the paper. Since I would be using mostly these for journaling I would buy those. The gel pens came in a lot of cool colors they were more color choices and I loved the fluorescent line if I was going to highlight things I would buy the gel pens. All in all I’m very happy with how these products performed and I would recommend them for anybody young or old. Thank you so much for sending them to me and letting me review them. I will use them a lot!

2019 Crayola Take Note! Review, Felt-Tip Pens, Permanent Markers, Erasable Highlighers, Gel Pens and Dry Erase Markers

What Is New For Crayola Take Note! This Year?
Crayola is expanding their Take Note! line this year. In 2019 they have introduced new Dry-Erase Markers (that actually erase), Felt-Tip Pens, and best of all Permanent Markers. My son would agree with me there. When I told him what they were as I was unboxing them he got a huge smile on his face. For some reason he does not like drawing with washable markers. But he loves his Sharpies and permanent markers.

I was so excited to receive these products from Crayola this year in exchange for a review. I have always loved using Crayola products for writing and now I will not be limited to only thin tip markers.

I think these supplies will be a big hit with teachers. They love these kind of supplies especially the Dry-Erase markers and Felt-Tip Pens. The biggest complaint with the Crayola Dry-Erase markers in the past were they did not erase very well. Crayola changed the formula and these Dry-Erase markers erase super easy, finger easy. They also added a ink level indicator.

The Felt-Tip pens come in a 6 pack, the Permanent Markers come in a 8, 12 and 24 pack, the Erasable Highlighters come in a 6 pack, the Gel Pens come in a 6 and 14 pack, the Dry-Erase markers come in a 4 and 12 pack, and the Highlighter Pens come in a 6 pack.
What Did I think?
My favorite thing is the colors are all super vibrant. Does Crayola make anything not vibrant? My favorite supply is probably the felt tip markers. I love how thin the tip is and how easily it marks the paper. I like the gel pens too and have been using them since last year. I even ran my black pen dry. I keep them in a special place in a wide mouth jar in my closet because I use them every day.

I also think the different numbered packs are a great idea. For teachers or others that do not need a lot of different colors it is a great way to save some money. And for those that like lots of colors (me) there are larger packs.

Here is what I made colored with all these supplies.

I used the Dry-Erase markers to make this sign for my website. I like the vibrant colors. I noticed that some colors were more easy to lay down than others. The red, yellow, green and blue came out very easily and very saturated. The other colors did not as much. Maybe I need to use them more or shake them?

My kids decorated some dry-erase boards too. These markers would be ideal for beginning readers/learners to help with handwriting practice. They would also be great in a classroom setting.

I made this planner page with the highlighter pens, felt tip markers, and erasable highlighters. I wondered if the colors would look good together and they did. The felt tip markers produced a super thin line.

The last thing we colored were pages from Crayola Escapes. I loved coloring with my daughter and my son. The ink dried super fast and was a different color then when it was laid down. I was happy no ink got on my hand and smeared the rest of the coloring page.

I also made a video earlier this year comparing Crayola Permanent Markers to Sharpies. Guess who was the winner? Crayola by a thin margin. Watch the video to find out why.

What Would I Change?
I would increase the color selection for the felt tip markers. I think teachers will really like these pens. They rave about flair pens. But flair pens come in more colors. I think if these came in more colors they would fly off the shelves even faster. I was also super disappointed the color names were not on the marker. That is one of my biggest pet peeves.

I would love to see an orange dry-erase marker. I looked for one when I opened the package, but there was not one. There are 12 markers and 4 are duplicates. I would love to have an orange and a gray and two other unique colors in this package. I would also love to see a thin tip Dry-Erase marker.

I may have mentioned this in another post, but I wish this line had standard color names. I happen to like the standard color names because it tells me what to expect from the color. The color names are fun, but not needed because this product appeals to an older audience that do not needed the added "fun" factor.

All in all I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the expansion of the Take Note! line. I hope they expand it even more and I will be using them every day.

Crayola Take Note! Review and Giveaway

I was really excited when Crayola told me they had a new line of supplies, Take Note! for the school year. They sent me some Take Note! gel pens and erasable highlighters in exchange for an honest review. What is so cool about this new line? Well let me tell you...a lot. Read all about them in this post. I know I say that about all Crayola products, but I really mean it. I would not say I loved it if I did not. The great thing about this post is you have a chance to win these too!

What's In the Box
There are 3 different products in the Take Note! series. There are 6 and 14 packs of Crayola Take Note! Gel Pens and 6 Crayola Take Note! Erasable Highlighters. Crayola labeled the colors on the back of the box, which is amazing, because it bothers me when art supplies are not named. The colors are creatively named as opposed to most crayon colors that are traditionally named (ie red and blue). My favorite Gel Pen colors are Denim Jacket and Little Black Dress, because black pens and the denim color.

Colors:
14 Gel Pens: Up Beet, Berry Pretty, My Valentine, Orange You Lovely, Summer Sunset, Par-Tea, Emerald City, Jade Necklace, Surf's Up, Denim Jacket, Twilight Sky, Lilac Bouquet, Namaste, Little Black Dress
6 Gel Pens: Little Black Dress, Lilac Bouquet, Surf's Up, Jade Necklace, My Valentine, Berry Pretty
6 Highlighters: Mystic Amethyst, Royal Majesty, Mermaid Wave, Glow Party, Coral Reef, Electir Blush
Purchase Information: Received from Crayola for review
Where to buy:  any place that sells Crayola

What Did I think?

I would definitely buy both of these products.

The gel pens are more pen like then the Gel Pens in the Signature Series. They work better too. These pens have minimal bleed through and are great for bullet journaling, writing lists etc. I use mine for my planner. The colors are very vibrant. The pens came with a silicone ball attached to the tip to keep the pen from drying out. All the pens were super fresh except one for me. I would definitely recommend them and will buy more when they run out. One time I bought some gel pens in New York City and used them a lot. I took them EVERYWHERE. I was visiting family when I lost them and could never find them in the store again. These pens are just like those missing pens.  I will definitely keep them close so I do not lose them again.

The coolest thing about the highlighters is the magical eraser. To the average Crayola user this may seem like new technology, but it has been around for years. I love that Crayola is packaging and marketing them in a different way. My kids were amazed when I was making the picture above, and made pictures of their own. How did Crayola make an erasable highlighter? It's a chemical reaction on the paper. The eraser dye reacts with the color dye to "erase" the old color. I found that the any eraser would work on any other color except the yellow one. It had to use its own eraser. These highlighters can be useful and fun for kids and adults alike. The only thing is once something is "erased" it can not be colored over again, unless the yellow is used. But then if the yellow is erased nothing will color over it.

I would definitely recommend both of these products and can not wait to use them for years to come. The only thing I would change is the packaging. I would package them in a box instead of plastic. It is hard to collect items in plastic because once they are open the packaging is destroyed.

Review: Crayola Signature Markers, Colored Pencils, Gel Pens and Coloring Book

Have you heard of the Crayola Signature collection? When I heard about it I instantly wanted to try it. Crayola was super nice and sent me all of the supplies in the picture below in exchange for an honest review. It was like Christmas when the package came. Seriously. I told my husband over and over again how excited I was. I even went out and bought two more coloring books so my kids could color with me when I was coloring for this review. We have had a fun week coloring at our house. My kids have loved everything.
What Is Crayola Signature?
Crayola Signature is a collection of supplies similar to Crayola Escapes and Aged Up Series made especially for adult coloring. The different sets include; 20 Detailing Gel Pens, 16 Dual Tip Sketch & Detail Markers, 24 or 50 Blend & Shade Colored Pencils, 16 Brush & Detail Dual-Tip Markers, a 40 page Creative Lettering Inspiration Pad, and a Calligraphy Set. I received everything in the above picture to try out.

Each set comes with a beautiful tin. The Gel Pens and Dual Tip Markers fit pretty snug, the colored pencil tin did not. I do not know if it came a little damage and that is why it did not fit. The other two seem to fit fine.
Gel Pen Tin
Dual Tip Marker Tin
Colored Pencil Tin

Inside each tin there are two trays that stack on one another. There are spots in each tray for each supply. The gel pens and markers fit in snug. The pencils do not. The trays are made of a flexible plastic.

Below are some pictures I colored with each set from the coloring book and my review.

Crayola Signature Gel Pens Review and Color List
Did you have Gel Pens when you were young? I did. I threw out my set a couple years ago because they were not working anymore. These Crayola gel pens were hands down better than my other gel pens. Two words: Glitter and Metallic. The effects were amazing! The  gel pens were super pretty and sparkly. This picture does not do them justice. For some reason it is hard to capture glitter on camera. It was my favorite picture I colored. It took the longest and was the hardest on my hand to color, but it turned out beautiful.

The Gel Pens come in Metallic and Glitter. There are 9 Metallic colors and 11 Glitter colors in the package. The Gel Pens come in the same shades with the Metallic colors being lighter. I used both Glitter and Metallic colors in the picture above. I loved the shading effect when I used the glitter and metallic gel pens together.

How did they color? The Glitter Pens were easier to color with. The ink came out easier. I definitely had to apply a fair amount of pressure for both types to color in everything, but less for the Glitter Pens. As it happens fairly often with gel pens, ink does not always come out smoothly. The following tips can be used to help the ink come out better.
  1. Clean tip with Isopropyl Alcohol
  2. Run warm water of the pen
  3. Scribble on another piece of paper.
Even with having to help the ink come out better I LOVED THESE PENS and would highly recommend them. To me they seem to work like a normal gel pen, but the colors are AMAZING.

Color List: Glitter: pink, red, orange, yellow, green, sky blue, blue, violet, gold, silver, black, Metallic: pink, red, orange, gold, green, sky blue, violet, gray, silver
Crayola Signature Colored Pencils Review and Color List
What is special about these colored pencils? Crayola specially formulated them to color on dark paper. The effect is amazing. It looks like coloring with chalk. The pencil has a smoother and thicker laydown than normal colored pencils. The lead goes quickly. I had to sharpen three of them to complete the picture. But that is a good thing. It means the color comes out very smooth.

It was interesting to note that I could color over other colors with black, but I could not color over black. I loved the effect of these colored pencils on the black paper and will definitely be using these again.

Color List: Mahogany, Raspberry, Ruby Red, Red, Red Orange, Orange, Yellow Orange, Light Orange, Harvest Gold, Mango, Goldenrod, Yellow, Lemon Yellow, Lime Green, Yellow Green, Spring Green, Jade Green, Green, Pine Green, Teal, Robin's Egg Blue, Green Blue, Turquoise, Cerulean, Sky Blue, Blue, Light Blue, Violet (Purple), Orchid, Maroon, Mauve, Magenta, Pink, Bubblegum, Salmon, Brown, Light Brown, Peach, Sand, Tan, Bronze Yellow, Dark Brown, Taupe, White, Gray, Cool Gray, Slate, Black, Raspberry, Navy Blue
Crayola Signature Dual Tip Markers Review and Color List
The Dual Tip Markers come in 32 colors. I practiced my block lettering, practiced calligraphy skills, and colored a picture. The thin tips were not as thin as a pen, but produced very fine lines. They could also be used to fill in a section, but were a little harder than the other tip. The other tip is a regular Super Tip or Thin Tip marker from Crayola. It can be used to color in sections or think for detail work.

To make the block letters I used the ultra thin tips. I used both ultra thin and Super Tips for the calligraphy practice. I used a white colored pencil to highlight. It was super fun to learn the techniques and practice. I feel like I could do calligraphy now. I have always done block lettering, but it was very cool to see an official method for it. I loved practicing all the different ways to fill in the letters, add embellishments, and add shadows.

My daughter loved this picture, but there are so many things I could change about it. I usually like to do a test page first to make sure I like all the color combos and such. But I did not do that with this one. I would make the lettering all yellow, and do different colors for the flowers. And maybe use more different colors for the leaves. I did combine colors for this picture. The purple flowers and orange lettering were combos of colors. I think it turned out okay, but feel there are so many things I could have done better.

Color List: black-gray, brown-golden beige, coral reef-melon, raspberry-carnation, magenta-hot pink, primrose-flamingo pink, violet-wild orchid, ultra violet-purple mountain, indigo-battery charged blue, blue-blue lagoon, robin's egg blue-turquoise surf, jungle green-kiwi, green-electric lime, marigold-yellow, tiger orange-orange circuit, brick red-lobster red
What did I think?
I loved all the sets. If I had to pick one I would pick the colored pencils. There is no other colored pencil product in the Crayola line right now that will color the same on black paper. The Gel Pens would be next because they were so pretty. I loved the Dual-Tip markers too. My daughter loved the gel pens the best, my son the markers. He said, "The markers are so much easier to color with." All the supplies have similar color palettes and can be used together to color one page. The coloring book the sets come with gives lots of instructions and examples. It even comes with color pages inside to give examples. There are 4 pages of instruction and many pages to practice the techniques that were taught.

What Would I Change?
I would add another black pages coloring book to the set. I found myself wanting more pages. I would add more colors to the marker set. And I would make the gel pens a little smoother. I would maybe add a pencil sharpener with the colored pencils because I definitely needed one. I would make it so the colored pencils were not as loose in their tray. And I would made the trays out of a harder plastic. One of them was already starting to tear.

All in all I LOVED this set of adult coloring supplies from Crayola. These sets are good for all coloring levels. Advanced colorists and beginning colorists will love them and be able to make some really pretty pictures. If my daughter had not already seen it it would be a perfect Christmas present for her. It is super hard to shop for 7 year old girls. This set would also be a perfect present for anyone that loves adult coloring. Make sure to get the adult coloring book to go with it.

Collecting Information
This line is perfect for collectors. The tins are really nice. The colored pencils are a new type of specialty colored pencil from Crayola. The Gel Pens are also one of the biggest selections of Gel Pens Crayola has ever offered. They have made them in the past, but not with this much variation. I think collectors should definitely picked these sets up.
