Paper Mate Flair Scented and Flair Bold 16 Count Review

Guess what? This journal page smells as pretty as it looks! I was so excited to have the opportunity to try out the new Paper Mate Flair Scented Brunch Scents and Flair Bold  Pens. They both come in 16 beautiful colors. I have not reviewed much of Flair Pens yet on the blog, but I do have a pack from Christmas that I will put up soon. Flair pens are a felt tip gold standard pen. I say gold standard because EVERY teacher swears by them. Also I recently bought this planner to put all my swatches in and I love it especially because it has the dots so I can make straight lines (or at least try to).

I happily received these from Flair in exchange for an honest review. The paper for the Flair Bold was provided by Hahnemuhle. This blog post contains affiliate links.

Crayola Color Slicks

In 1998 Crayola introduced the Color Slicks line in US and Canada. The crayon formulation was different and would go on the paper smoother than a regular crayon. They were a lot like an oil pastel. These did not last long and were not made again. In 2004 Crayola introduced the Slick Stix line that is a twistable. These are still around today.

The back of the box says, "If you really love coloring, you're going to love Crayola Color Slicks. No more pressing down hard or coloring over and over to get those bright colors. Crayola Color Slicks glide on smoothly and create rich, vivid color for hours of coloring and drawing fun."

Multicultural Crayola Crayons 8 and 16 count

Crayola came out with the Multicultural crayons in 1990. Multicultural crayons were an "assortment" containing "six tone colors of the world which can be blended with black & white to create a wide variety of skin tones. By varying pressure while crayoning, deeper or lighter tones" could "be achieved to expand the color range in this culturally inclusive assortment." The box did not contain any new colors, they were colors from the standard Crayola crayons; black, sepia, mahogany, burnt sienna, tan, peach, apricot, and white. A 16 count box was also made that contained eye and hair colors.

Crayola also included Multicultural paint, colored pencils and markers.

In 2020 Crayola announced a new assortment of crayons "Colors of the World" that expands the MultiCultural line even more. These are a set of 24 specially formulated crayons for various skins tones. I can not wait to get my hands on them.

The Crayola No. 16 Gold Medal School crayons box was released in 2002 and contains the standard crayola colors. The back of the box says, "Crayola proudly presents this limited edition nostalgic box of 16 crayons." Basically the box was nostalgic, not the crayons themselves. This box design is based on the 1940 crayon box design.

Review: Crayola Signature: Pearlescent Acrylic Paint, Cream Sticks, Paint Markers and Tri-Color Pencils

What Is New For Crayola Signature in 2019?
Crayola has come out with some really cool new Crayola Signature products for 2019. The pearlescent trend is big this year; pearlescent acrylic paint, cream sticks and paint markers. Each of these mediums work a little different. The acrylic paint works like regular paint. It is contained in a tube. The cream sticks work like Slick Stix and comes out like lipstick on the page. Once it dries it does not smear. Paint markers are paint in a marker. They come without ink in the tip. The marker must be shaken and then "pumped" by pushing the tip down over and over again much like the glitter markers.

Crayola Retro Colors Crayons

Crayola released the Retro Colors box in 1999. They renamed some classic colors and gave them hippy names such as flower power pink and woodstock mud brown. I love they embraced an era and named colors after the era.
