How to Make Friendship Bracelets Quickly (The Tortured Poets Department Version)

Going to the Eras Tour was one of favorite things I did in 2024. I got the opportunity to go to the Eras Tour in Toronto, Canada, after we found last minute tickets. I had a done a video about all the TTPD, The Tortured Poets Department Bracelets so I had plenty to trade with other people. It was really cool too because I got to see TTPD on the Eras Tour set list.

Here is the giant bracelet that was traded from stadium to Stadium. It was a trek to get to it, but such a cute sign. I even made bracelets later based on the sign.

Here are all the bracelets I traded for the ones I made. I brought TTPD bracelets and some bracelets I had repurposed from other concerts that had Taylor lyrics on them. Sadly I did not get pictures of those because it all went so quickly. All in all I was able to have about 60 bracelets in 2 days for the concert. I do not recommend making so many bracelets so fast in that short amount of time, but I have some tips that will definitely save some time with making bracelets.

The first thing that I did to make these TTPD bracelets was visit Michaels. I had a theme I wanted to go by, white, off white, black, gray and gold and needed some beads to fit my theme. I had not bought the strand beads before, but I discovered them at Creativation and feel in love with them. They are a higher quality bead and the beads bead faster than some of the alternatives.

I feel in love with these iridescent white beads.

Here is another strand of clay beads I was inspired by. I love the messy look of the beads. No pattern at all, but color themed.

Here are all the letters I used. The gold lettered ones and square ones are in the background. I love the plain black and white beads for these theme.

To save time on making friendship bracelets I like to alphabetize the beads and then I used these bead tray from John Bead to catch all my beads. This helps the beads from rolling all over the table and helped me when I had to make bracelets at an event at a restaurant the night before a concert.

Some of these beads were pretty smaller and I had to use a smaller string. I used stretch magic string, it comes in different sizes. It does not stay tied very well. I had to use super glue to make keep the bracelet together. I let it dry for a few minutes.

Then I was able to cut it and the string ends were not very visible. Even though the stretchy cloth string is faster and can be tied easier I prefer this method because the ends look nicer.

I am so glad that I was able to go to the concert and had bracelets to take with me. It was an unforgettable evening.

This was one of the last Eras Tour there ever was. I really hope Taylor Swift decides to tour again and I will be ready with more bracelets. Which album should I do bracelets for next?

How to Make an Eras Tour Shirt

I really wanted to take my 5 year old to the Taylor Swift Era's tour movie, but there was no merch on Taylor's website at all for 5 year olds. I had merch for my 12 year old daughter and I that we got on her website and from The Eras tour in person, but not for my 5 year old. I decided to take matters into my own hands and make her her very own Taylor Swift The Eras Tour Movie shirt. We paired it with a gold and cream skirt and she was ready to go. In this blog post I will show how I made this shirt.

Supplies:

To start off with I got some gold iron metallic cricut material. The hardest part was using cricut design to make the Era's tour logo. I can share what it looks like, but it will be needed to be created because the font is not native to Cricut. The font used for the Eras Tour posters and merch is Pistilli Roman. The font can be downloaded here. Once it is downloaded open it as a system font in Cricut.

To make the Taylor Swift larger the width and height need to be unlocked and the height made double. In my case it was 1 to 2. Then space The Eras Tour and Movie to desired width. I made them as wide as Taylor Swift because that is what she does on her merch. After that I welded the whole design, otherwise when when cutting it would throw the words everywhere. This way the design will stay in place and only needs to be ironed not rearranged on the shirt.

After that come the fun part of weeding. Some of the letters had really small widths and came off during weeding. I have a fix for this next.

I did not grab a picture before I fixed it, but the M, A, V, W and some other letters had thin portions and did not weed out very well. I took a gold Posca pen with a Yasutomo brush and painted those portions of the letters back on.

Here is the end result. Can you see where I painted it on? The A, W, V, U and M. I let it dry before wearing it.

Here is the completed shirt. It looks like it could be from Taylor Swift's online store. I am so glad my daughter had something to wear to the movie. She loved wearing it and she fit right in. We were able to watch the Eras tour movie together. And I will say for a 5 year old I prefered the movie to the concert because she would have been tired, it would have been expensive and it would have been very loud. How To Make Friendship Bracelets (Taylor Swift Eras Tour Version)

Recently I had the opportunity to go the Taylor Swift Eras Tour in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Allegiant Stadium. This was the 2nd stop for the Eras tour and I had heard that people were going to exchange friendship bracelets. I knew I wanted to make some and exchange them. In this blog post I will show you how I made the bracelets and then what I wish I would have done differently in exchanging them.

To make friendship bracelets for the Era's tour any type of beads will do as long as there are letters. Letters are what is used to make the different song titles for each bracelet. This is a kit I picked up at Target with white, silver and black letters. I did not use it for the Las Vegas stop, but I am going again in New York and will make some more bracelets.

Find some bracelet supplies on Amazon. Buying at Michael's and Target was convenient, but the beads were a little more money. But on Amazon to save some money, especially if making a ton.

I picked up some beads, letters and string from Michaels. I wish I had had more letters to choose from. I am excited to use the above kit because the letters are available in alphabetical order and I do not have to base the bracelet based off the color of beads I find. I chose the stretchy string because it is easier to fit onto different sized hands. I also found that some holes on the beads were too small for the string. I am going to have to buy smaller string to use them.

The key to making these bracelets is to come up with cool sayings in the middle. These can be song titles, initials of the songs, random inside Swiftie jokes or allusions from the songs. To get started I measured the string a little longer than my wrist.

Then I tied a bead to one end of the string. This bead will change later, but it helps the beads from coming off when they are being put on.

I tried to make color patterns with the beads I had. I really want to do another Me bracelet. I love this color palette.

I took the bead off the end and then tied the bracelet together. I then tucked the ends of the string into the beads.

I then put them in a plastic bag to bring with me to the tour. I put these beads in a clear purse and had no problem getting in.

I made the mistake of putting these beads in my bag and not on my wrist. In order to see other people that want to trade the bracelets have to be displayed. I would recommend putting the ones to trade on one wrist and the others to not trade on the other wrist.

Since I did not find anyone to trade with I found people to give them to that had cool costumes. Here are some girls that had steller outfits!

Here is a mother daughter duo that were sitting by me. It made me wish my daughter was at the concert with me.

I found someone celebrating their 50th birthday at the concert. How cool is that?

Lastly I found someone that was super pregnant and super cute and gave them a bracelet.

Here is someone I wished I had given a bracelet. She had a super cute outfit. I also gave one to my sister, and a friend and her daughters, but do not have pictures of that.

It was so fun to give these bracelets out at the concert. I would highly recommend it. Everyone was so happy to receive one. Next concert I am going to I will make 20-40 bracelets and trade away. What concert are you going to? Are you going to make bracelets?
