Crayola Target (including Target Red) and Walmart Crayons: What's Inside the Box

I have been searching for the Crayola Target Red and Walmart 8 count boxes for a while now. The Target Red box features a very unique crayon color called Target Red. The Walmart box does not feature any unique colors, but is one of the first time that Crayola started to do themed boxes for stores, something they love to do now. I picked these up on eBay. I think Target sponsored this box and sold it in stores along with a 48 count crayon box and 8 count marker box. The next year Walmart did the same. I bet it was to keep up with Target. This sort of thing also happened when Crayola released the Pick Your Pack boxes at Target. They released them at Target the first year. The within a couple years there were new boxes and Walmart also had their own assortment of boxes. I personally liked the Walmart line of boxes better. I like that they feature the color of the crayon combinations on the box.

8 Count Crayola Tip Collection Crayons: What's Inside the Box

This is the 8 count box Tip Collection line of boxes sold exclusively at Walmart. Who is Tip you ask? On the back the 2014 64 count box it says Tip is "more of a spirit than a person. In fact he so loved the creative energy in kids that he decided to take the form of a Crayola Crayon way back in 1903." That is the same year the first Crayola crayon was made!

Crayola came out with the Tip Collection a couple years after the Target "Pick Your Pack" boxes debuted in 2013. It was Walmart's way to compete with the Pick Your Pack boxes. I have to admit I like collecting these ones slightly better. I like that these boxes are colored coordinated and they feature Tip on the box. I used to be obsessed with organizing my crayons by color.

16 Count Tip Collection Crayola Crayons: What's Inside the Box

Crayola came out with the 16 count Tip Collection boxes a couple years after the Target "Pick Your Pack" boxes debuted in 2014. I have to admit I like collecting these ones slightly better. I like that these boxes are colored coordinated and they feature Tip on the box. I used to be obsessed with organizing my crayons by color. They came out with these 16 count boxes the year after the 8 count boxes were introduced.

8 Count Crayola Meltdown Crayons: What's Inside the Box

The Crayola Meltdown boxes came out in 2012. I missed the Crayola Meltdown boxes the first time they were available. They were only available at Walmart and select Walmarts at that. Sadly, my Walmart did not have them. They were made because melting crayons had become very popular. They are some of my favorite design of boxes. The boxes feature themed colors and melted crayons on the box.

I thought I had lost the opportunity to get these forever, unless I wanted to pay an arm and leg on eBay. I bought a few of the boxes at Michaels which came in a Meltdown art set. I bought it just for those boxes, yes. A few weeks later I saw that they were available at JoAnn Fabrics and online, even better. A lot of times collectible crayons are not available online. Crayons are so cheap many stores like Target do not even put some of them on their website. I immediately picked up the boxes, and an extra set. I am so excited to have them all. I LOVE the box design. And I love the color combinations inside the box.
